Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager in Retail Agri Business is responsible for driving business growth, revenue generation, and customer satisfaction within the agricultural finance segment. This role requires expertise in working capital solutions to cater to the unique financial requirements of agri-businesses and farmers.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition: Identify and target potential clients within the agricultural sector, including farmers, agri-businesses, and cooperatives, to expand the bank's customer base.

Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Understand their financial needs and objectives to provide tailored working capital solutions.

Working Capital Financing: Offer specialized working capital financing solutions to clients, including crop loans, warehouse receipt financing, and agri-term loans, based on the assessment of their creditworthiness and business requirements.

Credit Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough credit assessments of clients and their businesses to ensure prudent lending practices and minimize credit risk exposure.

Market Research: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the agricultural sector, including changes in crop patterns, government policies, and market dynamics.

Cross-selling: Collaborate with other departments and teams within Bank to cross-sell additional financial products and services, such as insurance, savings accounts, and investment products, to agri-business clients.

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal bank policies. Accurately maintain client documentation and records.

Achieving Sales Targets: Set and achieve sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development, revenue generation, and customer acquisition.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on sales activities, client relationships, and market insights for senior management.

Customer Education: Educate clients on the benefits and features of various banking products and services, helping them make informed financial decisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Prior experience in working capital finance and agri-business lending is essential.

Strong understanding of the agricultural sector, including knowledge of crops, farming practices, and agri-business operations.

Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Sound financial analysis and risk assessment capabilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with Bank's products and services
